Columbia, MD - AMDA announced today that Rebecca Ferrini, MD, MPH, CMD, full-time
medical director at Edgemoor Hospital in Santee, CA, and avid user, supporter
of The Answer®, was named the organization's 2009 "Medical Director of the Year."
An interdisciplinary panel chose Dr. Ferrini from over 50 nominees for her work as a
physician leader, educator, patient advocate, and clinician.
In making the announcement, AMDA Executive Director Lorraine Tarnove said, "Dr. Ferrini
exemplifies the passion, commitment, and leadership abilities that we see among our
members. She has embraced challenges and tackled them head on. She makes a difference
everyday and touches the lives of residents, staff, family members, and her medical
colleagues. We are proud to have her as our 2009 Medical Director of the Year." (Excerpt
